First Look: ThemeMeme Aeterno WordPress Theme

I’m work­ing on a new design for ThemeMeme, a new WordPress theme, to be called ThemeMeme Aeterno. Like my other themes, the name comes from some Lorem Ispum non­sense, and is not meant to infringe on any other use, and espe­cially is in no way is con­nected to the Urban Dictionary def­i­n­i­tion of Aeterno, which I only just dis­cov­ered. Honest.

I think of ThemeMeme Aeterno as the suc­ces­sor to my WordPress theme, ThemeMeme Aperio. I would have kept the same name, since I orig­i­nally thought of Aperio as a pro­to­type rather than a fin­ished theme, but it has since taken on a life of its own.

I’m still think­ing through the design, but the home page is live with Aeterno, and I’ll be tweak­ing it and fill­ing out the inside pages in the com­ing days. School starts on January 6th, so I’ll have my hands full soon, but some­time after ThemeMeme has been updated, I’ll be releas­ing the design as a theme.

I’d appre­ci­ate any feed­back you have on the home page or any sug­ges­tions, but please under­stand that I may be slow in responding.

   Hey! Nice to see you are work­ing on a new theme. Happy new year to you.

   I am won­der­ing if the col­ors are being pow­ered by the cat­e­gories. If so, what hap­pens when a post is in 2 cat­e­gories?
   Also, your most recent post does not show up first. Have you a way to order the posts on the homepage?

   Yes, Able, the cat­e­gories are color coded (I’m still mulling over the default color scheme). If there is more than one cat­e­gory, I think it will take the color of the last cat­e­gory listed. But you should really have only one cat­e­gory per post and use mul­ti­ple tags, if nec­es­sary. The first post is out of order because the fea­tured post is sticky.
